{"id":1527,"date":"2022-05-21T14:56:37","date_gmt":"2022-05-21T12:56:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artaucentre.nnstudio.pro\/vitrine\/censorship\/"},"modified":"2022-07-17T16:24:31","modified_gmt":"2022-07-17T14:24:31","slug":"censorship","status":"publish","type":"vitrine","link":"https:\/\/artaucentre.be\/en\/vitrine\/censorship\/","title":{"rendered":"Censorship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bram Van Meervelde (1991) lives and works in Antwerp.<br \/>\nWhile studying the Latin language as a college student and\u00a0getting\u00a0bad marks in mathematics, he decided to continue in the arts.<\/p>\n<p>His\u00a0interest in the arts was stimulated by his father and mother,\u00a0both art lovers\u00a0and collectors.<br \/>\nIn 2010 Van Meervelde continued at the Academy of Fine\u00a0Arts of\u00a0Antwerp where he got his master&#8217;s degree in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>During these studies, he enjoyed an Erasmus residency\u00a0in\u00a0Athens of six months. Intensified absorption and observation of\u00a0the Greek\u00a0life and culture resulted in a rich variety of works.<\/p>\n<p>Van Meervelde never got rid of Athens and returned regularly\u00a0to\u00a0the warm and chaotic center of aesthetics.<br \/>\nFrom the age of 17 he participated in different group exhibitions like \u00a0\u2018New\u00a0Masters\u2019 (2014, Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, curated by Philip Aguirre),\u00a0\u2018S\u00e9ries\u2019 (2014, CAPS, Antwerp, curated by Paul Poelmans), \u2018Traces of the present\u2019,\u00a0\u00a0[2015, Serifos Greece, curated by Eva Vaslamatzi and Danai Giannoglou], a duo\u00a0show at Transit Gallery [2015, Mechelen], \u2018Now Belgium Now\u2019 [2016,\u00a0Antwerp],\u2019Terra Quadrata\u2019, KEIV, [2017, Athens], Expo 2018, [2018, Antwerp,\u00a0Curated by the District of Antwerp], Het Voorstel [2018, CC De Steiger, Menen,\u00a0curated by Hans Martens].<br \/>\nHis first solo gallery exhibition opened in October 2019 in Galerie Transit Mechelen.<\/p>\n<p>He made several publications as limited editions and\u00a0collaborated with other artists on a wide range of projects,\u00a0including street art.<\/p>\n<p>Van Meervelde likes to work in and with the\u00a0specifications of a\u00a0certain place, indoors and outdoors, legal and illegal.
