Moving With Colors 6
#2
Egon Leonardi Michel Leonardi
Curator : Marjorie Ranieri
3738 Rue de la Régence
Moving with colors is a modular architectural installation created by Michel Leonardi and made of cardboard boxes on which a video clip is projected. These moving images fragmented by the relief of the geometrical supports synthesize personal experiences that video maker Egon Leonardi has lived in the worlds of urban art, music and night life.
Moving with colors saw the light of day in 2004 and has not stopped growing and reinventing depending on the venues that host it. Up to now, five versions of the installation have been created. In 2015, it was presented at the Transgresje Festival in Torun, Poland ; in 2016, at the Maison de la Culture in Namur and in 2018, at the ADGY art center in China.
For each of these venues, Moving with colors was designed in such a way that the public visits it freely and becomes a moving support that hosts the projected images. The color is therefore not perceived in a frontal relation, but in a more immersive relationship. It addresses our senses in a more complex form : we traverse the color, the color traverses us. We transform it and it transforms us.
If the immersive component was reconsidered as part of the Art au Centre exhibition, the installation is nonetheless destined for evolving constantly, transformed by the action of internal components of the work (for instance the interaction between the color on the surface of the boxes and the luminosity of the video or the shapes of the projected images) but also the action of external components (artificial or natural luminosity). It thus offers pure moments of visual poetry designed to seize the visitor during its urban stroll. In fact, depending on the movements in front of the display at different times of the day, the color will be perceived in various facets. The aim is to create multiple and diversified perceptions of the color.
