Artistes en résidence

« Our collective is composed of four women artists : Babi Avelino (1975), Emilia Bellon (1982) and Roberta Sucato (1993). We are from Brazil, Mexico and Italy. We are active in the field of art both in Belgium and in our countries of origin. We live in Liege, an increasingly cosmopolite city where intellectual openness and freedom of expression still exist. However, our personal experiences have shown us that patriarchy is still heavily present in the universe of arts. It is often necessary to reformate oneself to be a part of it. We have therefore decided to create a collective to find more easily the means to auto-produce ourselves and to coordinate our various actions.

For Art au Centre, our participation takes the form of a residence. We will gather every Tuesday in our studio located in Vinâve d’île street to work there. Our wish is to create on site, independently and collectively. At the end of the residence, we’ll present to the public the fruits of our research with the possible contribution of musicians and other women artists working in Liege. »
