Deep-show

The Deep-show installation sees itself as a mysterious undersurface world. It is protected by the window but still is offered to our prying eyes. The scene is at a crossroads of the coral reef and the back-room and is haunted by scrappy, hybrid, trans-human, poisonous, vulnerable living beings.

Gabrielle Lerch is a multidisciplinary artist and questions our connection to bodies and desires based on their paradoxes and fragilities, their incommunicability. Her installations are filled with elements of pornography and bondage, where the provoking immediacy crystallizes the balance of power impacting our societies. Nevertheless, as a counterpoint to this smell of sulfur and power, it is also a universe populated by aquatic creatures or celestial elements, whose strange beauty, without gender nor face, plunges us into a fascination, a metaphysical daydream.
