Playing Blocks

Collection of letters, memories, thoughts, definitions, SMS, cards… Protected by a window, printed in lower case or labelled and painted over, there is always an obstacle between the reader and the work. An effort to make to discover secrets, intimate sentences, love notes, a life path through words.

Build a fragility, illustrate the stages of evolution of a life. Create cycles. Build an art as a temporal journey that accompanies a change. All these cycles are eternal renewals, sequence of phenomena, transformations. The repetition of a motif, the exhaustion of a shape. It is a constant loss : the loss of childhood, the loss of youth. But also a perpetual construction, a choice of paths, this life path. The wooden cubes, first children’s toys, appear in the work as components that give rhythm to a story. A vertical timeline evokes this cycle, in which each passing second is a decisive moment. Afterwards, the transformation of this moment into a memory.
