BATEAU À VAPEUR ET REFLET (2 CHEMINÉES)

This painting is part of an ongoing collection on steamboats. The strict and minimum shape of the boats is a pretext to play, combine shapes to create variants and seek the various possible results.

The reflection leads to the limit of a certain abstraction, the image finds a second reading, which is less illustrative. Despite the radicalness of the shapes and the simplicity, or even the poorness of the tools, I like to think that I am part of a « Marine » painting tradition.
